Also for the 2026 edition, Mangialonga stands alongside the Piccoli Passi ODV Association, which supports the Neonatology and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Sant’Anna University Hospital in Turin.
During the event, there will be a Piccoli Passi ODV booth where you can make a donation in support of their projects.
The Piccoli Passi ODV Association, founded more than twenty years ago, supports Neonatology and the University Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Sant’Anna in Turin. It’s made up of a group of volunteers that includes families of children born prematurely or with pathologies and professionals from the Neonatology Department of the University of Turin.
The general objectives of the Association are on one side to support the best quality of care, adequate to the complex needs of small patients and on the other to promote initiatives that favor the well-being of parents, closeness to their child, active involvement of the family in care and sharing of information and experiences with the staff and other parents.
The presence in the department of parents with previous experience of a child born prematurely or with pathologies (Senior parents) who provide peer support and act as facilitators of the TIN process is very significant.
All this because the guidance and concrete support to parents and family, throughout the hospitalization, from birth to discharge, is one of the fundamental aspects in NICUs where care is centered on families.
The specific objectives of the association are therefore:
- to promote specific initiatives to support and protect families of premature or pathological newborns during hospitalization and after discharge from the NICU;
- to contribute to the acquisition of new equipment suitable for the best care;
- to promote continuous professional updating;
- to guarantee an activity to raise public awareness on the clinical, care and social aspects of perinatal problems.
